Ok so everyone knows about the different CMS (Content Management Systems) that are out there in the wide open world of the interwebs. The main ones you might have heard of would be Wordpress (Hey this site is made using that one), Joomla, Drupal (personal thought: Its awful) and finally e107 (also awful IMHO).

We now have a new one to wow us all. Its called Diferior.

Well what does Diferior have that the others dont have? Well for starters its got a built in torrent tracker. Nuff said really. Lets continue anyway.

Ok so its got all the basics we know and love from the various CMS options out there. Its got a nice easy to use interface. Its installation is quick and easy and it has blogging capability and of course it have a built in forum as well. Its got pretty much everything you would need right?

Well in a way yes and in a way no. Its still not finished so some of the more useful things you might expect from blogging and forum software such as WYSIWYG editors and other such advanced features have yet to be added.

The admin interface is nice and works well but to my mind is lacking in some more advanced options for user editing and a few others besides. We havent even gotten into the depths of the torrent side of things yet.

Now i dont know much about operating a torrent website and have not seen the backend of most of the torrent options out there but this one seems to be lacking in some small security features. Yeah it works but some small changes might make it work even better and give more control. Nothing major really just maybe the option to ban certain ip ranges or single addresses might be nice and handy. Ya know the little things.

Sadly it is lacking in mods and has a limited number of templates for it but as I said its still in the early stages so if you were expecting to crack open the compressed archive to find a lump of solid code gold then think again. Every such project starts off small and adds new things regularly to help it grow. This CMS is doing just that and doing it well with the small few people working on it. Its definately worth checking it out and if there arent enough features for ya either make a mod or ask for it to be added in the Diferior forums.
