Ok so I’m me and you’re you. I’m currently a student and not much more but soon will be broadcasting on a local community radio station starting up in Athlone in Ireland. So why am i doing this site? Well lets see……
Reason the first. I have an intanut addiction.
Reason the 2. I wanna get news and stuff out there that strikes a chord with me.
Reason the next. I wanna resurrect my podcasting career. I had a podcast for wargeek.com but the domain lapsed and it got bought and parked before I knew what happened. Damn my lack of personal finances. Ah well. It will be a fully redesigned thing anyway.
Hopefully this site will educate and entertain everyone. Honestly it should.

Ever since a child I’ve been keenly interested in computers and technology. I would routinely buy pc magazines such as PC Gamer, PC Format and yes even the likes of PC Buyer, and I would drool over page after page of the glorious tech porn contained within. My first computer came late-ish in life, on my 18th birthday I got my very first computer, previously, the closest I had gotten to owning a computer was a v-tech, and a super nintendo, neither of which ever came close to satisfying my desire for something bigger, better, shinier, for long.
Almost from day one I began experimenting with programming my computer - the first time I programmed anything, was when I edited some values in a Qbasic game, which invariably broke it beyond repair; but I perservered.
My first real programming experience, in the sense of “I made it do something” came in the form of Clickteams Klik n’ Play, then subsequently their “The Games Factory”, “Multimedia Fusion” and finally “Jamagic” programs, such was my dedication that I am accredited to this day with having been a volunteer beta tester for Jamagic.
I think its fair to say that technology is in my blood, I thrive on learning something new thats practical and most importantly - cool.
It was my idea to create IrishGeeks, a portal onto the Irish geek world, where none other truly existed. At present I maintain three websites:
